On Perfection in Motion
Susie Birchwood is a classically trained ballet and contemporary dancer whose practice quietly extends and challenges the boundaries of the form.
Photographed over a number of years, she performs both in and from a wheelchair, carrying through her movement the clarity, control, and musical intelligence of a deeply trained classical artist. Her career has included work with the Scottish Ballet, Ballet Cymru, and Stopgap Dance Company, as well as presenting her own choreographic work in venues including Sadler’s Wells.
